Our Road Trip

Over the last few months we've been downsizing to get ready for our move. We decided to forgo getting a moving van and just pack what we could in our car. We only moved up to Bellingham with 2 cars full of stuff (my mom drove up with us) so now we had to leave with even less than we came in with. Luckily my mom flew up for my uncle's wedding early July and took a suitcase of stuff and my grandma (mom's mom) drove up for the same event and was able to take my guitar back to my parents house.

Our road trip started on July 27th (also my last day working for T-Mobile.) We started at 2:30 drove from Bellingham, WA to Ontario, OR. I had to convince David to stop there at 1am because he wanted to stay up all night and drive through to Utah.

Nampa, ID

We got to Layton at about 2:30 the next afternoon to have lunch with my grandparents, parents, and sister. My grandma (dad's mom) had a really nice electric piano that she didn't use anymore and said that we could take it if we wanted to. It's a very nice piano and luckily it could be disassembled so we could just take the top part and not the petals or the legs, however the keyboard itself was bigger than we expected so we had to unpack everything we owned at my parents house, downsize yet again and repack everything....not my favorite but it worked.

During this time our car was having an A/C crisis and we ended up having to stay in SLC a few days longer than we planned which was kind of nice because we got to spend more time with our families.

While we were there we saw this cute house and fell in love with it. (No, I don't know who lives there. Yes, I made my mom pull over so we could take a picture.)

(I love the how the walkway and the table on the porch are simple and geometric. Also love the color scheme.)

We were able to play fun card games with David's parents and visit with his brothers and my sister-in-laws and our nieces. It was so fun but it made me sad that we don't live closer because we have so much fun with all of them.

We also went to the movie Salt with Brian and Veronica one night which was really fun, so much fun that somehow we forgot to take pictures. Or maybe we did but not with my camera.

(**8.11.11**--This post was supposed to be a lot longer with great details and explinations about the rest of our trip I've been avoiding it for about a year now so I figured I should probably post what I have and recap in my next post. Here are some more pictures on the road.)

This was the first morning in Utah or Wyoming we started really early.

This was definitely Wyoming with all the windmills.

This was the morning of day 2 we started out in Iowa.

 The fog/mist was crazy.

This was the third and day going through Pennsylvania...it pretty much looked like this through the whole state.

And of course as an ode to "The Office" we had to get a pic of the Scranton sign.

This was a very long trip and we almost made it in 3 days. We ended up staying the night on the eastern side of PA right before we got to NY because it was too late. Along the whole ride the A/C was going in and out (that was annoying). We arrived the morning of the 4th day exhausted to say the least.
